The cold dark matter model of structure formation predicts the existence of quasars gravitationally lensed by concentrations of dark matter so massive that the quasar images would be split by over 7 arcsec. We succeeded in discovering the first large separation (about 15 arcsecond splitting) lensed quasar, SDSS J1004+4112, due to a cluster of galaxies by using the data of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. Here we outline the discovery and the importance of this system.
