A method is developed to determine accurately and correct the errors of PDS coordinate systems with a glass grid. The method is applied to the PDS of Purple Mountain Observatory (PMO), with the result of reducing the coordinate systematic errors of this PDS from +/- 5 microns to +/- 1 micron. The precision of this method is a somewhat lower than that of a laser interferometric system, and errors caused by defects of guiding bearings cannot be removed. However, the method can remove the rotation component caused by the curvature of the rails, which cannot be avoided by a single-axis retroreflector laser interferometric system. Moreover, the cost of the method is much lower than that of the laser interferometric system, and it is easy to maintain.
