Neutral hydrogen (HI) observations of the recently discovered Sagittarius dwarf galaxy (D = 24 kpc) have been obtained using the 22-m Mopra telescope. We derive upper limits on the HI mass, at several positions in the galaxy's central region, of between 51 and 75 M_sun_. Interpolation over the extent of the stellar distribution of the galaxy gives an upper limit of about 10^4^ M_sun_.
