The calculation of the physical parameters of photospheric layers using the LTE approximation is described. The main algorithm for calculating photospheric lines is given. The corrections of the Saha and Boltzman equations for the upper layers are discused and the effect of the magnetic field is taken into account. The actual computational code and detailed description of how to use it will be published in Part II of this paper.
