Intensity and profile variations of the Balmer emission lines in the Seyfert galaxies NGC 4593 and NGC 5548 are discussed. These spectra were obtained in international monitoring campaigns. The broad line profiles consist of at least three components. These components vary independently. The FWZI of the broad line profiles remained constant during the variations.
