The light-to-mass ratios of field RRab variable in the Galactocentric distance range 0.5-19.0 kpc are calculated and compared with the results for RR Lyrae variables in Galactic globular clusters. It is shown that the two populations of variables are the same over the whole range of metallicity and Galactocentric distance. At fixed metallicity, the horizontal branch morphology in the field varies with the clusters.
