Pulsars: General, Gamma Rays: Theory

Scientific paper

Based on the concept of generation in e+/e- photon cascade processes near a neutron star, we introduce a new concept of generation order parameter ζ, which could be a non-integer, to characterize a γ-ray pulsar. Very good relations of this parameter ζ to the spectral index and the mean photon energy E of γ-ray pulsars have been obtained. Some predictions based on this parameter ζ are also discussed.
