Galaxies in the IC 4296 group have been investigated by means of a co-added data array of APM scans of eight Schmidt plates. Images at varying contrast levels, isophote maps and surface brightness profiles of these galaxies are presented, together with lower limits for their masses and magnitudes. The extensively warped disk (one of the largest warps detected at optical wavelengths) of the edge-on very large spiral galaxy MCG 06-30-005 is illustrated and discussed. Spectacular trails (>80 kpc in length) and an extended outer halo are seen associated with the lenticular galaxy MCG 05-32-053. A possible shell feature is seen adjacent to the late-type spiral MCG 05-32-063. This is the first such detection associated with a late-type spiral galaxy. The co-addition of Schmidt plates is demonstrated to be a powerful technique for revealing such faint features of galaxies, and for mapping out the extent of luminous baryonic matter associated with galaxies.
