We present observations and analyses of high-resolution 2.86 - 3.10 μm spectra of the Equatorial Zone (EZ), Northern/Southern Equatorial Belts (NEB/SEB), and North and South Polar regions (NP/SP) of Jupiter obtained with CGS4 at UKIRT. The observations were carried out for a total of 20 hours on various dates between 2006 April 18 and August 22 (UT) in photometric conditions, with spectral resolving powers near 37,000. The spectra have revealed absorption or emission lines of five molecular species, NH3, C2H2, C2H6, HCN, and PH3, as well as a smooth spectral feature due to haze particles. Using synthetic spectra we confirm that the dominant absorption lines in the equatorial spectra are due to NH3, whereas in the polar spectra C2H2 lines are prominent in addition to the well-known H3+ lines. We derive the mixing ratio of C2H2 in the high-altitude atmospheres and the optical properties of haze particles in the equatorial and polar regions.
