Scientific paper

We report a discovery of a new transient source, IGR J17331-2406 with the IBIS telescope onboard the INTEGRAL observatory. The source position is RA=17h33m08s and DEC=-24o06m46s (equinox 2000), with uncertainty ~2', that is about 40 arcmin from the known X-ray pulsar GX1+4. The source was detected during the observations of the Galactic Center field performed between 31 Aug. and 5 Sept. 2004, with an average flux measured during the 4-5 Sept observations of 9.1+/-0.8 mCrab in the 18-60 keV energy range.
