Recent observations of solar chromospheric oscillations have revealed two different types: 3-min intranetwork oscillations above the supergranule cells; and long-period (~5 to 20 min) oscillations associated with the bright chromospheric network. It has been speculated previously that the long-period network oscillations could be somehow related to low-frequency magneto-gravity waves in magnetized boundary lanes surrounding supergranules. We explore this scenario and examine its feasibility, as well as constraints based on a magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) model for the long-period solar network oscillations.
