We present the results of 10 μm and 20 μm observations of the Hii region W51 performed at UKIRT with the MAX camera. A new inversion algorithm has been experimented, which can recover the ghosts produced by chopping and nodding over a sky region characterized by strong, extended emission. The high spatial resolution of the images obtained allows us to identify some of the Mid-IR sources with stars previously detected by means of near IR imaging. We resolved the compact Hii region IRS 2 in four main components; we also obtained a map of the color temperature of the dust in the region. We compare our maps with high spatial resolution radio maps, and discuss the characteristics of the sources detected in IRS 2.
