A formula is derived for calculating the distribution of clusters in the number of their apparent members s under the assumption that the true distribution in the number of all their members is known. This formula is independent of the limiting magnitude of the sample under study and can be approximated by an expression of the form exp(-(3 + α)1ns - βs), where α and β are constants. The limits for the proportions of apparent single and double galaxies that are the brightest members of distant clusters are estimated. A new method for determining the mean number of cluster members that are brighter than an absolute magnitude of -14^m^ is described, and the corresponding estimate is obtained.
