WE have recently completed an investigation of the magnetic threshold fields for thin superconducting films of mercury. The extended magnetic transition curves described in a previous communication1 have been removed by using in place of a strip of film a circular disk with embedded current and potential leads. In this way, effects due to the diminishing thickness of the film at the edges of a strip are eliminated.
