In this paper we report on ultraviolet observations obtained with the Ultraviolet Photo-Polarimeter Experiment (WUPPE) during the 16 day Astro-2 mission in March 1995. WUPPE measures polarization in the spectral region from 1400 Angstroms to 3400 Angstroms. During the mission spectra were obtained on approximately 180 objects and spectropolarimetery is available for a large subset of that data. The most extensive set of data were obtained on stars selected as interstellar polarization probes. Another objective that was successfully satisfied was to determine polarization of Be stars and shell stars over the complete range of temperatures and rotation rates in order to study the nature of the mass loss processes. Other observations included other classes of hot stars, solar system objects, three recent novae, CV's, reflection nebulae, AGN's and other extragalactic objects. The present data reduction is primarily based upon premission calibration data. Flight calibration data and a pending laboratory calibration will be used to provide an improved instrument calibration. Thus any results presented in this communication must be regarded as preliminary. This work has been supported by NASA Contract NAS5-26777 with the University of Wisconsin.
