We present spectroscopic evidence that the luminosity of HD 183143 is higher by one magnitude than thought previously. The star is yet another B6-8 Ia-0 white hypergiant of the Galaxy. Its absolute visual magnitude is close to -8 mag, and its distance is close to 2 kpc. We describe spectroscopic manifestations of the nonstationary behavior of its atmosphere and wind.
