More than 200 spectrograms of Cygnus X-2 are analyzed which were obtained over the spectral regions from 4300 to 5200 A and from 6000 to 6900 A with a mean dispersion of about 100 A/mm. Variable emission in the H-alpha, He II 4686-A, and N III lines is observed along with broad absorption in H-beta (up to 80 A). Radial velocities are determined from the H-alpha and He II emission lines, but it is found that the results do not correlate with each other and are not consistent with any possible photometric periods. The temporal behavior of the H-alpha and N III emissions is discussed.
