The accretion problem near a Kerr black hole is studied under the assumption of a stationary and axisymmetric flow. Taub's formalism (1978) for this type of problem is closely followed and the equations for the flow lines are obtained. It is found that it is not possible to find an analytic solution except for the case when the fluid has an equation of state pressure equal to energy density (the so-called equation of 'stiff matter' or incompressible fluid). The equation is obtained with a more physical equation of state, but could eventually be solved by numerical methods.
