The possibility is considered through a numerical investigation that the progenitors of Type I supernovae are certain white dwarfs which become dynamically unstable due to e(-) captures by certain stable nuclei in their interiors. Detailed evolutionary sequences of white dwarf models were calculated with the Henyey method including composition changes which correspond to various e(-) captures.
