Six fields containing BL Lacertae objects are observed with the Imaging Proportional Counter (IPC) of the Einstein Observatory. Five out of six BL Lacertae objects (3C 66 A, PKS 0548-322, 1400 + 162, 4C 14.60, and OY 091) are found to be soft X-ray sources. The object 3C 66 A is observed to vary by 25% on a time scale of approximately 53 hours. Eight other X-ray sources are detected in these fields, one of which is extended.
