Apart from the first flare stars found at the Tonantzintla Observatory in the Praesepe cluster field (approximately 20 square degrees) some additional flare stars in the same region of the sky were discovered at the Asiago Observatory and later on at the Byurakan and Konkoly Observatories. The revision of the original Tonantzintla multiple exposure plates, plus the study of new photographic material obtained at Tonantzintla, has revealed, in total, the existence of 43 flare stars in the Praesepe field. Some of these flare stars have shown two or more different outbursts; at the moment it is rather difficult to determine with certainty the cluster membership of the majority of these variable stars. Some of the more conspicuous flare stars in the region do not belong to the Praesepe cluster.
