Certain conditions of cometary visibility and their influence upon the discovery probability depending on perihelion argument (omega), perihelion distance (q), and distances of both orbital nodes are investigated. It is shown that the influence of the value of q upon the discovery probability is several times greater when sin-squared omega approaches one than when it approaches zero.
