Radiochemical and instrumental neutron activation analysis was employed to determine the abundances of 14 elements in eight enstatite-chondrite falls, while literature data on an additional 28 elements were also used in a study of intragroup elemental fractionations. It was found that (1) siderophilic and chalcophilic element abundances are about 1.5 times greater in E4-5 than in E6 chondrites; (2) nonvolatile lithophile element abundances in E4-5 chondrites are about 1-1.2 times those in E6 chondrites; and (3) highly volatile elements are higher in E4-5 chondrites than in E6 chondrites by factors of 6-50. These fractionation patterns are discussed in terms of a fractionated nebula model.
