Echelle spectra of H-alpha and forbidden N II emission show that a
fragmenting shell in the Vela supernova remnant is sealed by a blister.
The existence of blisters on a remnant shell can produce an unexpected
relationship between the velocities of features detected in absorption
and position on the shell.
