All possible recursion formulas for J-integrals are studied which have a practical application to an annular eclipse. The relation existing between J-integrals and Appell functions is used to obtain these formulas, and two different sets of formulas are examined. It is shown that one of these sets gives rise to three formulas entailing variation of the m and gamma indices; these three formulas are also found to hold for the case of a partial eclipse.
