Spectroscopic and /or B, V, R, I photometric observations of 41 stars from Sanduleak's catalog of 273 probable dwarf stars of type M3 and later in the direction of the north galactic pole are presented. Combined with Luyten's (1976) proper motions, these observations are used to derive absolute magnitudes, distances, and tangential motions. This small (15% of the catalog) sample is characterized by median values of 1.1 mag, +11 mag, 40 pc, and 33 km/sec, respectively, for (R-I), absolute magnitude distance, and tangential velocity.
