Ultraviolet spectrograms of gamma Cas in the wavelength region from 2000 to 3800 A have been obtained by the space observatory 'Orion-2'. The distribution of energy in the ultraviolet for gamma Cas is derived. Two broad humps in this distribution curve at approximately 2200 A and 2600 A are discovered which probably are the result of blending of emission lines. The most important feature in the spectrum of gamma Cas is considered to be the occurrence of a powerful and very wide depression in the continuum at 2800 A. A possible extraordinary equivalent width is found for the magnesium absorption lines, 2800 Mg II and 2852 Mg I, in the spectrum of gamma Cas, an emission-line star.
