The corona and solar wind formation by an Alfven wave energy source in the quasi-dipole magnetic field is considered. Estimates of coronal temperature and cusp line altitude above the closed near-equatorial regions, and coronal temperature and asymptotic flow velocity in the open polar regions are obtained. The main results of the model are in agreement with the observational data for the minimum-solar-activity period.
