We present new emission line spectra of the diffuse ionized gas (DIG) in NGC 891. The data are discussed with respect to the Decaying Dark Matter theory which predicts ultraviolet photons of ~14 eV from the decay of νtau_ neutrinos to explain the photoionization of diffuse gas far out of the place of disk galaxies. Applying Ferland's photoionization code CLOUDY we have studied the thermal and photoionization equilibria implied by this theory. We find that the observed emission line ratios require photon energies and neutrino masses significantly higher than the upper limits predicted by the theory. Moreover, the upper limit for the [OI] line at λ6300 A reported here excludes that any monochromatic line radiation in the energy range 13.8 eV
