High resolution profiles of the Hα, He I (λ5876 Å), [N II] ,6584A), [AIII] (λ7136 Å) and [SIII] (λλ9069, 9532 Å) emission lines have been obtained to derive information on kinematical properties of the peculiar nebula surrounding the massive binary system RY Scuti. Permitted and forbidden lines clearly show separated blue and red shifted asymmetrical components associated with an expanding nebula. The blue emissions of forbidden lines are resolved in a triple structure. Both permitted and forbidden profiles indicate a common line forming region with velocity gradients and asymmetries. A faint, shallow and asymmetrical emission feature is observed at the base of Hα indicating the presence of material expanding at higher velocities. Our observations suggest a multiple shell nebula and an asymmetrical mass outflow from the system.
