The position of the supernova SN 1987A in the Large Magellanic Cloud, is very close to the center of the multiple star complex Sk-69 202 of 12th magnitude, indicating that the progenitor might be the brightest star of Sk-69 202. The author presents unique electronographic data with high resolution and excellent photometric quality, obtained before the explosion. He discusses the morphology of the complex and draws attention to the fact that the bright star might be multiple.
