The RIKEN RI Beam Factory (RIBF) is the first realization of next-generation exotic beam facilities, which is under construction and will have the first beam in the end of 2006. At the RIKEN, various nuclear structure and astrophysics studies have been made using fast exotic beams. The RIBF will greatly extend the region of study to more exotic and heavier nuclei.
