An outburst of the SN 1987A in the field of the very poor and loose cluster KMK 80 is examined. Its progenitor (an Sk supergiant) occupies a position that is normal for a blue supergiant on the cluster color-magnitude diagram. The cluster's age (about 10 x 10 to the 7th yr), which is determined from the luminosity of the progenitor of SN 1987A, coincides with the age assessed from the brightest main sequence stars. The membership of the progenitor in this cluster is very probable and this indicates the possibility of its having a lower content of heavy elements than do the LMC field supergiants.
