Observations of Nereid were obtained using a CCD camera on the 1-m Jacobus Kapteyn telescope on La Palma during the period July 10 to July 18, 1990. By comparing the brightness of Nereid with comparison stars, a composite light curve was obtained. The period was found to be 816 + or - 5 min or 13.6 + or - 0.1 hr and the amplitude of the light curve to be about 1.3 + or - 0.2 mag in R.
