Observational work concerning the outer features, the inner jet and the amorphous gaseous component of NGC 5128 jet is reviewed. Some condensations have spectra which are similar to those observed in photoionized HII regions. The nitrogen NII line strengths are sufficiently great to rule out the possibility that the material is very metal-poor and therefore primordial in origin. Some knots have spectral properties which are quite distinct from those of normal photoionized HII regions. The velocity data still require clarification. All the available velocities of these features are smaller (i.e., less positive) than the systemic velocity of NGC 5128. The inner jet-like features align with the X-ray jet inferring a connection between the two. The peculiar emission seen in the outer jet and in the amorphous gaseous regions closer to the nucleus may result from the exposure of the material to the hot nonthermal nucleus.
