After using the black hole mass-angular momentum plane to clarify the thermodynamic and evolutionary characteristics of Kerr black holes, the conditions under which the third law of black-hole thermodynamics for such black holes is not violated are derived, taking into account possible accretion processes. It is noted that, in light of these considerations, no Kerr holes are capable of achieving the extreme Kerr state with the absolute zero temperature by accreting finite quantities of both mass and angular momentum.
