A sample of intermediate resolution QSO spectra is used to search for inhomogeneities in the Lyman-alpha forest distribution. Within the errors, it is found that neighboring absorption system rest equivalent widths are not correlated on scale lengths of 300 to 10,000 km/s. This result is used to derive upper limits on pressure fluctuations in the IGM within the framework of pressure confined clouds. The redshift clustering properties of these objects are reexamined using two statistical tests, and no significant clustering on the same scales is found. The main result is that if Lyman-alpha clouds are pressure confined, the confining IGM is extremely homogeneous, with 2-sigma upper limits on pressure fluctuations of 0.14 or less on any scales over the above range.
