Pulse-arrival-time observations of 126 pulsars of which only four had previously published period derivatives are reported. The observations were made with a 64-m telescope over the course of 18 months, and processed to obtain the pulse arrival times. Positions, periods and period derivatives were determined from full timing solutions for 121 of the pulsars, and partial solutions were obtained for a further three pulsars. During the 180 pulsar-years of data represented by the observations, one or possibly two discontinuous changes in the period of a pulsar were observed, indicating that such events are relatively rare. Improved dispersion measures were also derived for most of the pulsars, and the period derivatives obtained were observed to be similar to the 107 values obtained previously.
