The combined results of published values and eight new measurements yield a limb-darkened angular diameter for the K5+ III star α Tauri of 20.45±0.46 arc ms in the wavelength range 0.4 - 0.9 μm. The determination of the linear limb-darkening coefficient, β, from deconvolved strip-brightness distributions is discussed. Results produced by two independent reduction procedures are compared.
