CoD -48°3636 has been found to be a low-luminosity and high-temperature variable with light variations on both short and long time scales and with radial velocity variations in the hydrogen emission lines with a period of 0.122 days. The star is probably a member of the Sirius Supercluster, giving Mv = +7 mag (π = 0arcsec.0305), and indicating similarity to the blue companions in such systems as RU Peg and AE Agr.
