The effects of variable initial metallicity (Z) and initial helium abundance (Y) on the evolutionary tracks, lifetimes and helium core masses of massive stars are investigated. Evolutionary models are presented for stars of masses M = 10, 12, 15, 20 and 30 solar masses with Z = 0.001, 0.0001 and 10 to the -6th. Stars with Z = 0.02 are also considered for the sake of comparison. The stellar models have been calculated up to the advanced stage of core carbon burning. Preliminary results of the s-process nucelosynthesis occurring during the core helium burning phase are also given. The present stellar models may improve the stellar data needed to follow the photometric and chemical evolution of galaxies.
