A closed model and two open models of an oscillating universe (three multisheet models of the universe) are described. Time reversal occurs in the open models; the point of time reversal is either the time of the initial singularity or the point of time maximum cosmological expansion. The smoothing of density inhomogeneities and the increase of entropy that result from baryon decay are examined, as is the fusion of two black holes at a late stage in the evolution of the universe. It is suggested that black holes might not have formed in the cosmological expansion-contraction cycle preceding the present cycle and that such exceptional cycles might recur periodically.
