The role of the investigation of neutrino characteristics in cosmological studies is discussed. It is noted that the discovery of the neutrino was connected with the confidence that the laws of conservation are valid. Consideration is given to the question of neutrino density in the universe, and to the question of whether neutrinos can be stopped. It is noted that a simple calculation can demonstrate that 97% of the mass of the universe must be concentrated in neutrinos if the neutrino rest mass is 30 eV. The implications of neutrino rest mass for the solution of some old problems of astrophysics are examined, with particular attention given to the missing-mass problem.
