The authors have measured the magnetic field strength in two regions associated with the Orion Nebula. One region is the large H I cloud that envelops the ionized and molecular clouds; the field strength is 10 μG. The other is the large CO cloud just south of the Orion Nebula; the field strength there is 11 μG. The directions of the two fields are opposite. These results are discussed using the virial theorem.
