The Pan-STARRS 1 Telescope (PS1) will perform several complementary optical and near-infrared surveys, including the 3 pi Survey which will repeatedly observe the sky north of -30 degrees in five filters: grizy. The photometric accuracy of this survey (10 millimags) and especially the astrometric accuracy (10 milliarcsec per epoch) will allow an unparalleled census of near-by young clusters and their environments. Proper-motion selected cluster samples made possible with the PS1 3 pi Survey will greatly improve the completeness for many of these clusters for both fainter magnitudes and larger areas on the sky than are currently possible. This dataset will enable studies of, for example, the IMF below the substellar limit as a function environment, the dynamics of the cluster members, and the evaporation of cluster members as a function of mass.
