A new high-resolution (~ 2 mas) VLBI hybrid map at a wavelength of 6 cm of the BL Lac Object AO 0235+164 has been produced. The map shows its radio structure to be dominated by a strong, nearly unresolved core, with two weak components, one in the NE, and a much fainter one in the SW. The position angle of the jet component is 66.4°, higher than in previous observations. From the time variation of the flux density, we find that there are probably two periodic variations, a shorter one of 1 ~ 2 yr and a longer one of 3 ~ 5 yr. These two periodicities could be due to the joint action of jet outbursts and jet rotation.
