VLA observations of the central region of NGC 1068 at wavelength 2 cm are reported. The central region of NGC 1068 resolves into an asymmetric one arcsec double structure and a nuclear source. We conclude that the lack of symmetry and the lack of a compact core source in the inner 100 pc of NGC 1068 complicates a jet model. Supernovae associated with recent bursts of star formation are energetically capable of providing the observed radio emission but may not provide an easy explanation of the observed radio morphology. The nuclear source in NGC 1068 needs a more exotic explanation because of its high volume emissivity, but instabilities in this high-pressure region may have caused the inner double structure.
