An interactive procedure has been developed to eliminate the deficiencies of the standard background substraction and blaze efficiency correction procedure in IUE High Resolution Images. The validity of the assumed statistically constant background and point spread function perpendicular to the dispersion direction are tested during the run for each image's procedure, and an actual application to the IUE High Res SWP 4616 Image is presented.
