The eclipsing binary system BR Muscae was observed photoelectrically in 1980-1982. Four primary and two secondary eclipse curves are well defined, and eighteen epochs of minimum light and an updated ephemeris are presented. Although the coverage of the light curves has not been completed, it is evident that they are of the W UMa-type with typical features of contact binary systems. Since the observed (B-V) and (U-B) colors are consistent with a reddened main sequence star of spectral type B3, it is concluded that BR Mus is a new member of the so-called 'early-type contact binaries'.
