The O III forbidden lines and alpha hydrogen expansion velocity fields within the planetary nebulae NGC 1501 and NGC 6905 have been derived from Echelle spectrograms. The data suggest that NGC 1501 is a prolate spheroid of moderate ellipticity. NGC 6905 consists of a truncated prolate spheroid and of two caps of less dense material faster expanding than the gas contained in the central part.
